Cover Teacher
Rationale
At Nova Hreod we wish to provide cover, which is more effective in terms of quality, consistency and continuity than is possible using external supply teachers. The Cover Team consists of qualified Teachers who have a range of experience within the team. The team has access to training on the systems used within the school and in behaviour management. Professional development opportunities are a regular feature of the work and will involve both ‘in house' and ‘external' training when appropriate. The team have their own office in which they work and prepare materials for lessons.
It is recognised that Cover Teachers need to belong to a team with effective and direct leadership. For this reason we have appointed a Cover Team Leader with responsibility for deploying and developing the team and developing its expertise.
